1. Introduction
Welcome to MilMentor.com, a platform owned and operated by Service to Success, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MilMentor website, platform, features, content, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
MilMentor is designed to connect mentors, mentees, employers, and organizations within the military and military-connected community for mentorship, hiring, professional development, and event participation.
2. Eligibility
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, if a mentee are in the relevant populations (veteran, active duty service member, member of the Guard or Reserve, or military spouse of the United States Armed Forces), have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. You further represent that all information you provide to the Company is accurate, complete, and not misleading. If you are found to have accessed the platform against these eligibility requirements, your profile will be deleted immediately with no chance of data retention.
3. Account Types and Responsibilities
MilMentor provides integrated functionality across mentorship, hiring, and events within a single user profile.
Mentor accounts require users to provide professional and military background information and may include integration with LinkedIn profiles and calendar systems to facilitate scheduling. Mentors must verify their email address and phone number, set availability, and participate in scheduled calls initiated through the Platform. Mentors are solely responsible for the content of the advice they provide, the accuracy of their representations, and their conduct during interactions with mentees. The Company does not supervise, control, or guarantee the quality, accuracy, legality, or outcome of mentorship engagements.
Mentee accounts require users to provide job-search-related information, which may include resumes, industry interests, salary expectations, geographic preferences, and other relevant details. Mentees may apply to jobs, register for Company-hosted or third-party events, access resources, and connect with mentors through the Platform. By applying to jobs through MilMentor, users acknowledge that applications are transmitted to employers without any guarantee of review, response, interview, or employment. The Company does not control hiring decisions and does not guarantee employment outcomes or employer communication.
Company accounts allow employers and organizations to post job opportunities, access candidate information as permitted by Platform functionality, register for events, and engage with users. Companies are solely responsible for hiring decisions, communications with candidates, compliance with employment laws, and the accuracy of job postings. The Company does not endorse, vet, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any employer, job listing, or employment decision made through the Platform.
All users agree to provide accurate and up to date information, maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials, and accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under their account.
4. Platform Use Guidelines
Users agree not to engage in any unlawful activity or any activity that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Platform. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to, infringing intellectual property rights, hacking or attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems, uploading malicious software, interfering with Platform functionality, misrepresenting identity or affiliation, scraping or harvesting data, using automated tools such as bots, crawlers, or spiders without authorization, reverse engineering Platform features, or copying, reproducing, indexing, or extracting user or Platform data outside of authorized use.
Users may not use the Platform to solicit business unrelated to their designated account type, recruit users for unrelated ventures, or market external services without prior written consent from Service to Success. All user-generated interactions, communications, and proprietary materials made available through the Platform are confidential and may not be used outside the intended scope of Platform functionality. Service to Success reserves the right to monitor communications and activity within the Platform to ensure compliance with these Terms, and users expressly consent to such monitoring by creating an account.
All fees paid by employers, companies, sponsors, or other users for access to MilMentor features, hiring tools, job postings, or any other paid services are final and non-refundable immediately upon payment unless expressly agreed otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by an authorized representative of Service to Success, LLC. No refunds, credits, or chargebacks will be issued based on hiring outcomes, number or quality of candidates, candidate responsiveness, event attendance levels, platform performance metrics, technical interruptions, user engagement, or statements, representations, or conduct of any candidate or user on the Platform. Service to Success makes no guarantees regarding employer return on investment, hiring results, candidate qualifications, candidate behavior, or employment outcomes, and all paid services are provided on an as-is and availability basis without performance warranties of any kind.
5. Termination of Accounts
Service to Success reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at its sole discretion, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, harmful conduct, fraudulent behavior, misuse of data, or any activity deemed detrimental to the Platform or its users. Upon termination, the Company is under no obligation to restore access to the account or any associated data. Employer fees paid for hiring features are non-refundable, regardless of termination. Users whose accounts are terminated may be permanently banned from accessing the Platform. Users must report issues, bugs, or offensive content within five days of discovery by emailing [email protected].
6. User Generated Content
By uploading, submitting, or displaying content on the Platform, including resumes, testimonials, posts, or other materials, you grant Service to Success a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, display, modify, distribute, and create derivative works from such content for marketing, promotional, operational, analytics, and Platform-related purposes. This license is revocable upon deletion of the content by the user, except for materials that have already been distributed or incorporated into marketing or reporting materials. Users retain ownership of their content but agree that the Company may use it in accordance with this license.
7. Employment, Mentorship, and Event Disclaimers
MilMentor facilitates introductions between candidates and employers but is not a staffing agency and does not guarantee job placement, interviews, employer responses, compensation levels, or employment outcomes. The Company does not participate in hiring decisions and is not responsible for rejected applications, employer non-responsiveness, hiring discrimination claims, employment disputes, or workplace conduct. Any employment relationship formed through the Platform exists solely between the candidate and the employer.
The Company is not liable for delays in employer communication, lack of response, miscommunication between users, or misrepresentation by employers or other users. Users assume full responsibility for evaluating opportunities and communications.
Users may register for Company-hosted or third-party events, whether virtual or in person. The Company is not responsible for event cancellations, changes in programming, third-party event conduct, external event platform failures, travel disruptions, or outcomes resulting from networking interactions.
Mentorship engagements are voluntary peer-to-peer interactions. The Company does not supervise mentorship advice, independently verify all credentials beyond provided information, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, or usefulness of guidance provided. Users assume all risks associated with mentorship interactions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Service to Success, LLC shall not be liable for unauthorized access, data breaches, loss of employment opportunities, hiring decisions, user conduct, service interruptions, technical failures, emotional distress, professional loss, lost profits, consequential damages, or reliance on information obtained through the Platform. In no event shall the Company’s total liability exceed one hundred dollars or the amount paid by the user to the Company in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
9. No Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Service to Success disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and security. The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the Platform.
10. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Service to Success, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from the user’s breach of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, violation of law, employment disputes, or interactions between users.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the State of Delaware. Arbitration shall be confidential, conducted on an individual basis, and the arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding. Users waive the right to participate in any class action or class-wide arbitration. Users may opt out of this arbitration provision within seven days of first account creation by emailing [email protected].
12. Platform Data
The Company collects and stores contact information, resume data, employment-related information, usage data, communications, and event registrations. This data may be shared with employers and event partners in connection with hiring and event participation. Users acknowledge that no electronic storage method is completely secure and that the Company cannot guarantee absolute security. The Company may use anonymized or aggregated data for analytics, reporting, marketing, and Platform improvement purposes.
13. Intellectual Property
All Platform content excluding user-generated content is the property of Service to Success, LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Changes to Terms
Service to Success reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Notice of changes will be provided via the registered email address at least seven days prior to the changes taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
